Explore local history and architecture with the Greater Ridgewood Historical Society on Sunday May 4rd! We’ll be taking you through Ridgewood’s North Historic District, which contains some of the best preserved early 20th century architecture in NYC!
The walking tour will meet at 1:30 PM in Korean Memorial Square, at the intersections of Forest and Grandview Avenues, and walk the North Ridgewood Historic District. $15. Rain or Shine. Please purchase tickets in advance.
Celebrate Spring with the whole family at the historic Vander Ende-Onderdonk House Museum in Ridgewood, Queens. We’ll be exploring nature and history with planting a seed (that you can take home!), making a paper craft, and playing games!
Join us, on Sunday April 6th, to explore local history and experience the unique architecture of NYC’s smallest Historic District- Stockholm Street in Ridgewood, Queens!
We will meet in front of the Vander Ende-Onderdonk House at 1:30 PM.

Join the Greater Ridgewood Historical Society and the family of Helen Ries as we gather to celebrate the remarkable life and legacy of Helen Ries with the dedication of the John R. Ries & Helen Ries Memorial Picnic Grove at the historic Vander Ende–Onderdonk House Museum.
The dedication ceremony will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 12:00 noon.
Light refreshments will be served following the dedication.
The Vander Ende-Onderdonk House will be open for evening tours by candlelight on the 2nd Saturday of each month- January through March! The March tour will be on Saturday, March 8th. On your guided tour you will learn about the history of the House & the families who lived there, explore three floors of exhibits, and enjoy complimentary refreshments. As well as a musical performance from local musicians. The March musician is Christian Apuzzo.

Advance Reservation Required. The last ticket sales will be at 5 PM on the day of each tour, you must purchase tickets in advance. Adults are $20. Children under 12 & GRHS members are free.

Come on down to the historic Vander Ende-Onderdonk House on Sunday, December 8th, for our annual St. Nicholas Day celebration! The Museum will be decorated seasonally indoors for photos with St. Nicholas. We will have goody bags for children with a take home craft. Additionally, there will be refreshments available for purchase.
General Admission is $5 and FREE for children under 12. Please reserve General or Children’s tickets for all persons attending in your party. ALL ATTENDEES, BOTH ADULTS AND CHILDREN, MUST HAVE A TICKET.

Our annual Harvest Festival will be Sunday, October 13th, from 12-4 PM. This is an outdoor event, with a large covered tented area, please dress accordingly.
Tickets are $10 for General Admission and Free for Children under 12. Children must be accompanied by a ticketed adult.

The event with be held on Saturday July 20th, from 1-3 PM. $15 per crafter, spectators free. Ages 3+

Make your own hand-dipped taper candles the old fashioned way! Explore the grounds of the historic Vander Ende-Onderdonk House and learn about the history of lighting. The workshop will be outdoors, so please dress appropriately.
